Drink tea to help relieve symptoms of a dry cough

Tea is rich in polyphenols which are a type of antioxidants.  Both green and black tea also has anti-inflammatory properties that sooth sore throats and treat dry cough conditions. Drinking hot tea on its own does not guarantee the treatment of dry cough or as a remedy of dry cough, but here are a few things you can try:
  1. Give Masala (Chai) tea a go. The Masala spices in Masala Chai tea provide the antioxidants that help in exempting dry coughs. Examples of these spices with antioxidants include cloves, cinnamon and cardamom. Cinnamon also has anti-inflammatory properties
  2. Ginger can also be used to get rid of dry cough. It contains antibacterial properties and anti-inflammatory properties, which boosts the immune system, relieve pain, and lessen discomfort. Ginger can be used as an ingredient in many products, such as tea. Both adults and children can use it. Ginger can be used together with honey to add some sweetness and the combination may be even more beneficial for dry cough
  3. The use of honey to get rid of dry coughs is familiar to many people. Honey has antibacterial properties that help to coat the throat hence getting rid of dry cough irritations. Honey can be taken by adding it to tea or taking it directly using a teaspoon daily. It is thought that raw honey, in particular, can help build immunity.
